Product Description

The Pista, the Formigli custom track frame, is made for racing on a velodrome. Some Pista owners cruise on their Pista fixies to authentic coffee shops.

For Pista’s tubes Renzo Formigli uses a special aluminum alloy made exclusively for him in Italy. He says that particular alloy is the one material available that provides the stiffness and snap he demands from a track bike.

That’s what an assembled Pista is: an Italian track racing bike. Its wheelbase is short and head angle steep for instant response and steering.

It’s the real thing.

The Pista is not made in the Far East. It is not merely stickered Made in Italy. It wasn’t designed from the get-go to be an urban fixie, likely to be stolen and cheap to replace. The Pista was never intended to be sold at bargain prices to trend-conscious impulse buyers.

The Pista is a dead competitive track bike, or track iron as they say. It is made by hand in Italy, finished by hand in Italy. A Pista isn’t especially cheap, unless you consider how well it does what it does.

You can ride a Formigli Pista in the city all day long. Urban chaos is a easy life for a Pista. Its natural habitat is far fiercer.
